Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.
Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter time you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground through the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, cinemas and food courts.
From here metros will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.
In summer, stay closer to the old town and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t fine enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to the Montreal Casino.

Wonderful people. Great food. I loved the Metro - fast clean and convenient. I got to practice my French language and when I stumbled I went right into English. The residents were courteous and patient. I plan to return. There were many restaurants we missed. We used Uber a few times. No problems. We went to a really neat farm market. We dined for lunch at the top of the RBC bank building - Sushi. View spectacular on the 46th floor. A favorite spot for dinner or drinks was the L'orignal at 479 St. Alexis Street Montreal. Sit at the bar. Michael the owner is a most unforgettable character.

Old Montreal is a safe, clean city with plenty to see and experience. We were able to easily walk to downtown and used the hop on hop off bus to see all the attractions. We took the Metro to see the biodome that we all enjoyed and did an all day bus trip to Quebec city that was wonderful.

Montreal is a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant city.
Montreal is a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant city. It exceeded my expectations. Getting around Montreal was quite easy. UBER is accessible and cost-effective and it is a walkable city.
Old Montreal is much like being in Europe and is worth the time.
I would avoid the Hop On/Hop Off and book a more informed overview of the city. The Aura light show at the Basilica is well worth the time and money and the Walking Tour of Old Montreal with Marie as a guide was terrific.

Montreal was much easier to walk around than I had anticipated - I used public transport only to get to the airport and back. Pointe-a-Calliere museum https://pacmusee.qc.ca/en/ was superb. Didn't have time to see all Montreal has to offer as I was on a business trip, but walking around the Old Town is nice, also up Mont Real itself.

There are many things to do in Montreal.
There are many things to do in Montreal. Getting the Montreal Passeport and planning your trip in advance (making reservations) will do you well. Many things to do for both kids and adults. Food was great! It was our second time so we didn't do some of the things we already did before. Our itinerary went like this:
Day of arrival: 6PM Art Chaos - Spin Art and Bar, then Schwartz' Deli for Dinner
Day 2: Breakfast at Le Bisco (buffet) at Hotel Bonaventure. Montreal Biodome, Insectarium, Jean Talon Market, and Laser Tag Evolution in Marche Central. Montreal Casino in the evening. Night Swimming at Hotel Bonaventure.
Day 3: Habitat 67, Mount Royal Lookout (Kondiaronk Belvedere), Late Breakfast/Early Lunch at Le Croissanterie Figaro. Le Grande Roue (Ferris Wheel), Notre Dame Basilica, Chinatown. Late Lunch at Dobe & Andy, which was fantastic. Dragon Beard Candy. Afternoon coffee from Cafe Olimpico. Night Swimming at Hotel Bonaventure
Day 4, Day of Departure: Some decided to stay in to swim, so a couple did a breakfast run: got some chocolate babka from Boulangerie Cheskie (amazing!), a dozen croissants from Le Saint Louis (amazing again! this is to take back home too), and coffee and tea from Cafe Alphabet, which was also good. Oasis Immersion at 11:00AM (reservation for 10:40AM, but they let us i no problem). Went to Carrefour for a second to buy some fountain pen ink at Stylo.ca. Sunday Brunch at Renoir at 1:30.
Most of the activities were included in the Montreal Passeport and made it a great value. We could've done more museums, but we were with a 7 year old child, who would get bored.
We had a great time. Food was great. Lots of things to do! Definitely recommend the places we visited. The hotel pool makes staying at Hotel Bonaventure worth it, especially in snowy weather.
The location is amazing! The room was much nicer than the pictures made it seem. It was the fastest and most efficient check-in I have ever experienced.
The women on the front desk knew we were in town, along with many others (for a concert). They asked us how it was and how long we had to wait, due to covid. They were genuinely happy for us.
The cost of many hotels in downtown Montreal is very high. This one was literally the cheapest, and it was still amazing.
I will absolutely stay here the next time I am in Montreal.
The hotel was a great deal for anyone looking to travel on a budget and be close to downtown and the best highlights of Montreal. It was my first time staying in a hostel abroad and it allayed my fears. I stayed in an all-female room of 12 and it was super safe and clean all the time. The jacuzzi on the roof is amazing and the staff were friendly and multi-lingual. I even extended my stay one extra day. I would 100% recommend this place to friends, solo travellers and especially female solo travellers.
1st night woken up at 4am by upstairs room with floor stomping, when I addressed it with staff he seems uninterested and did not apologize. On 2nd night woken up by fire alarm at 1:30am, no apologies for that also. Next day, coming back to my room from downtown breakfast, guests loudly having sex in room on same floor. This inconvenience should earn me a couple of free nights. Maybe I’ll find another hotel in the area. I stay there everytime I’m in Montreal, maybe not anymore.
Clean comfortable room with everything needed to have maximum flexibility and enjoyment when visiting Montreal. The hotel is very close to a subway station that serves three different lines (UQMA Berry), within walking distance of downtown / old Montreal, has parking (if required but honestly, not required) and the breakfast provided had all the basics plus fresh bagels / croissants! The room had everything you needed including kitchen, window that can open with screen.
This hotel is well located in Downtown Montreal close to many restaurants, bars and events. Private parking is underground and felt very secure, however this was an additional cost ($27 plus tax), which was more than expected. Room was large with a comfortable double bed and a pull out couch with bedding (the pull out couch was an average level of comfort). It was also dog friendly, which is difficult to find in this area.
Great for our weekend stay in Montreal. The King Corner Suite was spacious and comfortable. The room was updated compared to the online pictures. Not the fanciest hotel in the area but certainly the best value while still maintaining a modern upscale feel. The staff was great. The parking garage was a plus. Walking distance to the Bell Center and great restraunts downtown. I would recommend and will definitely return.
I loved everything about the room! It was comfortable and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. There was always coffee and other hot beverages available and free chocolates! The location was great! It is a few blocks from the centre of downtown Montreal and there was a restaurant across from the hotel called Allo Mon Coco; I highly recommend that you eat at this restaurant!
The location of the hotel is its big draw — right downtown, next to the train station. All the staff from the concierge to the room service staff were doing their best to be helpful and friendly. We usually stay at Fairmonts when traveling in Canada and so the familiar amenities, menu etc helped make us feel at home. The king size bed was really comfortable; I would buy it.
Amazing little hotel, downtown as downtown can get. everything seemed to be newly renovated and very clean. Bed was comfortable, plenty of restaurants and activities a few minutes away. Friday and Saturday evenings are really nice if you just head outside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here when I visit Montreal again.
supervisor was exceptional. explained what hotel had to offer, the amenities, breakfast and history of hotel. friedly and helpful staff members. convenient location in old montreal. walking distance to the port, restaurants, bars and sightseeing. downtown and chinatown were 10-15 min walk so convenient. uber drivers were easy to get picked up at.
The location is great, in a student area, three blocks to the Latin Quarter, four easy blocks to Old Montreal. IGA supermarket is five blocks away and the main downtown shopping street is a few blocks away. The hotel is very clean and our room had everything you could want. We stayed ten days. Quiet and nice.
Amazing location, at the edge of downtown Montreal, so everything is reachable by foot - in 15-20 minutes walk you can reach any of the museums, shopping or old port area. The staff is really niceand helpful, rooms are huge and clean. The breakfast choices are very decent, for a north American hotel
The hotel is very clean. The employees are friendly. The kitchen and the bar are good.It is located in the downtown area of Montreal. Everything is great. I have very good experience of living there. And I will come back again. I highly recommend this hotel for travellers.
I stay here at least once a month. Hotel Bonaventure has wonderful, helpful, caring staff. It also has awesome amenities, such as the 10th floor outdoor garden, swimming pool, and restaurant/bar. It is a perfect location in downtown Montreal by the train station.
My friend and I had a great stay at Warwick Le Crystal. The hotel has really nice amenities, comfy beds and friendly staff. The location right in downtown Montreal is also great, most things are within walking distance and there's a metro only 4 minutes away.
The hotel is in a great location in Montreal, walking distance to old town and downtown! The interior is really beautiful and the rooms are simple but perfect. There was also an outdoor rooftop area that we loved!
Great location within walking distance to Chinatown and downtown Montreal. Apartment-style hotel and the space is larger than expected. Well-equipped with full kitchen. Friendly staff. Walking distance.
